What is Sound Therapy?

Sound therapy is the use of vibrational frequencies from instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, drums, and the human voice to support physical, emotional, and energetic healing.

From a scientific viewpoint, sound therapy is based on the principles of vibrational therapy and entrainment—where rhythmic sound patterns influence brainwave states. For example, certain frequencies are shown to stimulate alpha or theta brainwaves, associated with relaxation and deep meditation. Vibrations from sound waves can also stimulate the vagus nerve and other parts of the nervous system, helping to lower heart rate, reduce cortisol levels, and promote a parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) response. Some research even suggests that sound frequencies can influence cellular function and support pain reduction or mood improvement.

From a spiritual perspective, they work with the idea that everything in the universe—including the human body—vibrates at a specific frequency. When these natural frequencies become imbalanced due to stress, trauma, or illness, sound therapy can be used to help realign the body’s energy systems, clear blockages, and restore harmony. My approach to Sound Therapy

My name is Nikki and I am a sound therapy practitioner. During a session, I create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your experience, as your body absorbs sound frequencies on a cellular level.

During the session, sound waves will fill your energy field, and may also help to clear your field. A session can help shift trauma, stuck energies, and anything you feel you’re ready to let go of.

Most people feel a sense of deep relaxation during a sound therapy session, which can help lower blood pressure, release stress and tension, and let go of anxiety.

The sound frequencies played during a session may help you tap into your own power to heal within yourself. Many of our clients have been able to shift trauma and physical pain during a session, which has empowered them to continue on their own healing journey.
